VPGate™ communicates with many existing protocols, both open and proprietary, and is designed to adapt to both new/evolving protocols in the future. VPGate™ automatically converts from one protocol to another allowing dissimilar devices to communicate to one another. Interoperability is achieved by allowing an operator to dispatch over multiple supported radio protocols simultaneously. VPGate™ currently supports MPT1327/MAP27, JPS NXU-2 & ACU, Daniels radios and will soon support SIP, Fleetsync, P25 and others. Having the ability to run different protocols simultaneously provides the user maximum flexibility for their application.
VPGate™ provides flexibility to scale the system to the application as it operates on a standard PC using Windows XP Pro. A small cost effective system can run both VPGate™ and Scout™ on the same PC. VPGate™ can also run on a separate PC gaining the ability to support up to many consoles concurrently. Redundancy is achieved through the use of two PCs running VPGate™ where the second assumes control in case of failure, providing a seamless transition.
