Kevin Knowles, vice president of services and solutions at Avtec, is responsible for strategic planning, direction, and leadership for world-class services in support of Avtec’s “evergreen” products. He manages a team of more than 32 managers and engineers providing 24x7x365 client support, project management, IT implementations, solutions development, and professional services, including training and consulting.
Knowles is a 30+ year veteran of the communications system industry. Before joining Avtec, Knowles was the director of command and control programs for General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) where he led a service and engineering organization supporting nationwide critical defense communications system programs for over 18 years. He successfully completed multiple contracts in excess of $50 million, on-time, on-budget, and with the highest levels of client satisfaction. Prior to joining GDIT, Knowles was a program manager for the U.S. Air Force, overseeing a multi-national team that sustained and modernized U.S. and Canadian early warning radar systems.
Knowles is a U.S. military (retired) veteran with a B.S. in Management from the New School for Social Research, and a M.S. in Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Vistage International key employee program, the world’s leading executive organization. Knowles and his wife Diana reside in Lexington, S.C., and their daughter resides in St. Louis, Missouri.
