Kevin Williams, president of Avtec, Inc., is charged with overseeing the day-to-day operation of the organization, leading efforts to formulate and execute the company’s strategic plan while offering leadership to the company’s employees and senior management.
Williams was named president in 2016 after spending five years in senior leadership positions at Avtec, most recently serving as vice president of product development. In that role, Williams’ key responsibilities included providing strategic direction for product development, analyzing market data to create new products and services, and managing a team of more than 65 employees.
Williams has more than a quarter century of engineering and management experience; prior to joining Avtec in 2010, he served as director of electrical and software engineering at Apex Tool Group, a leading manufacturer of industrial fastening tools. In this role, he led a global team spanning three continents that was charged with supporting legacy systems and developing new products. Under Williams’ leadership, annual sales reached $152MM from $43MM forecasted.
Previously, Williams was the manager of software and test engineering at Wabtec Railway Electronics, where he directed software leads, developers, and testers responsible for more than 50 products across four product lines. He has held leadership positions within electrical and software engineering organizations in the United States, Germany, and England.
Williams received a BSEE from the University of South Florida and a MBA in international business from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. He is the founder and former president of Nevus Outreach, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving awareness and providing support for people affected by large congenital melanocytic nevi, and to finding a cure. Williams and his wife, Tina, have five children and reside in Lexington, S.C.
