Avtec’s Expanded Logging Recorder Compatibility Testing Program Validates Integration for IP Dispatch Environments

August 04, 2014 | by Tiffany Rushton

Avtec, a leading provider of pure Internet protocol dispatch console systems, has announced the expansion of its logging recorder compatibility testing program. The program verifies the level to which call recording vendor solutions are integrated with Avtec’s Scout™ voice dispatch consoles and can capture and playback audio, capture and display metadata, and filter and find recordings using metadata.

New Orleans, La. (August 4, 2014) – Avtec, a leading provider of pure Internet protocol dispatch console systems, has announced the expansion of its logging recorder compatibility testing program. The program verifies the level to which call recording vendor solutions are integrated with Avtec’s Scout voice dispatch consoles and can capture and playback audio, capture and display metadata, and filter and find recordings using metadata. Logging recorder technology is important because it assists in forensic incident reconstruction and investigation analysis. Metadata tags allow users to easily find recordings for playback. This is particularly vital in mission-critical settings such as 911 emergency call centers, and in critical infrastructure dispatch environments for utilities, airlines, and railroads.

Avtec’s “Works with Scout” logging recorder compatibility testing program offers customers a way to select an integrated voice dispatch solution built on an Internet infrastructure and Voice over IP (VoIP) technology. Avtec customers can leverage the benefit of metadata and other features with no additional software licensing fees. By testing integration with the industry’s leading logging vendors, Avtec provides customers with the freedom to choose the best solution for their call center.

Avtec’s “Works with Scout” program builds on the company’s history of providing proven, trusted, and reliable dispatch solutions for mission-critical environments. “More than 40 hours of quality assurance testing and documentation goes into validating each logging recorder vendor’s solution,” said Avtec’s Vice President of Product Development Kevin Williams, “Avtec’s compatibility program reduces risk for our customers because our rigorous testing ensures the seamless integration between Scout consoles and our call recording partners. This alleviates the need for customers to conduct their own integration testing, which simplifies their system deployments and accelerates their implementations.”

Since its inception in 2011, when four logging recorder vendors –Eventide, EXACOM, HigherGround, and VPI (Voice Print International)– earned gold designations for passing interoperability testing, the program has expanded to include metadata integration. Eventide® and HigherGround® were recently awarded Avtec’s highest designation level – Gold CE – for meeting stringent requirements of console and endpoint metadata integration testing. Seven other call recording vendors – CVDS, JEI, NICE, Redbox, Revcord, Stancil Verint – are in the process of testing with Avtec. More information about the program is available from Avtec’s website.

As part of Avtec’s assessment program, call recorder vendors are evaluated on a set of stringent criteria. Applicants can earn one of three designations – bronze, silver, or gold – that reflect corresponding levels of investment and capability.
