Avtec Dispatching Solution Selected for New Metro Rail Service in Brazil

LEXINGTON, S.C. – Sept. 14, 2017 – Avtec Inc., the leading independent supplier of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) dispatch console solutions, and solutions partner Alcon Engenharia de Sistemas have been chosen by the PAULISTA Metropolitan Trains Company (CPTM) to provide a comprehensive dispatching solution for the railroad’s new suburban metro Line 13. Scheduled to begin operations in 2018, the 12.2 km metro line will be the first link between downtown São Paulo and the Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), Brazil’s busiest airport.

The Avtec solution, which will consist of seven Scout™ VoIP consoles integrated with an EF Johnson radio infrastructure via a DFSI P25 conventional wireline interface, will provide dispatchers with the reliable, system-wide communications needed to ensure safety, track control and operational efficiency.
