Tracy West, vice president of human resources at Avtec, is the leader of the company’s initiatives related to the recruitment, compensation, engagement, and evaluation of the company’s workforce. West was elevated to her current role in 2016 after spending four years as director of human resources for Avtec.
West’s human resources career has spanned nearly three decades, and has included senior-level human resources management roles for leading technology companies. She joined Avtec after overseeing the human resources function at Amazon’s 1.3 million-square-foot Columbia, S.C. fulfillment center – providing programs and leadership for a staff of 12 and more than 5,000 associates and contractors at a key site for the Internet retailer.
Prior, West capped a notable 13-year career with global technology firm Flextronics (acquirer of Solectron in 2007) as senior human resources director for the US$1 billion company. As the human resources leader for the Solectron Merger and Acquisition team, West travelled to Europe, Asia, and South America. West started her career with NCR Corporation, rising through the ranks in a 10-year career at the technology giant’s operations in Ohio, Georgia, and South Carolina. She has lived and worked in the Netherlands, Austria, and Japan.
West holds an MBA and bachelor’s degree in business administration from Michigan State University. She and her husband have one daughter and reside in Columbia, S.C.
