May 10, 2017 | by Tiffany Rushton

Lexington, S.C. – May 10, 2017 – Avtec Inc., the nation’s leading independent provider of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) dispatch console systems, will showcase the latest in dispatch communications technology for utilities in booth #805 at the UTC Telecom & Technology Conference (UTC) in Charlotte, N.C., May 10-12. Vice President of Energy Market Sales Kevin Sumrell will be a guest speaker for the session: “Embracing a connected future: How utilities are preparing for the convergence trend” on May 10.

As energy companies look to migrate to pure Internet Protocol solutions, Avtec’s Scout™ VoIP technology has emerged as the console of choice for critical environments and trading turrets solutions. Several options are available to match the dispatching and trading needs of utilities, including hardware, software and mobile solutions. UTC attendees visiting booth #805 can get a firsthand look at Scout and its highly configurable, easy-to-use Graphical User Interface (GUI).

Avtec will also be showcased in Harris Corporation’s booth #211 as part of an integrated DMR offering using Harris Digital Mobile Radios (DMR) equipped with EnableLocation powered by Tait. This solution integrates voice, mapping, and data for faster, more informed decision making. For Harris and their customers, the value of the partnership is the ability to leverage Avtec’s 30 years of experience in critical infrastructure environments, including: electric, water, oil and gas companies; investor owned utilities (IOUs); municipal utilities; and energy cooperatives.
