Logging Recorder Compatibility Verification
The Avtec Works with Scout program is designed to verify the compatibility of partner logging recorders with Scout IP dispatch consoles. The program tests each recorder’s capability to capture and playback audio, capture and display metadata, and filter and find recordings using metadata.
Logging recorder capabilities are critical to facilitating forensic incident reconstruction and investigation analysis, and are particularly vital in mission-critical settings, such as 911 emergency call centers and dispatch environments for utilities, airlines and railroads.

Capability Levels
- Audio Capture – Recorder can capture audio from a Scout system and play it back.
- Console Metadata – Recorder can capture and display metadata originating from a Scout console.
- Endpoint Metadata – Recorder can capture and display metadata originating from an endpoint.
- Metadata Search – Recorder can filter and find recording using metadata search tags.
- Configuration Guide – The vendor provides a guide for configuring the recorder with a Scout system.
Partners can earn one of three designations – bronze, silver or gold. All three levels must support audio capture and playback, which is the lone requirement for the bronze level. The silver level includes the added requirement of providing a recorder configuration guide for Scout. The gold level is the highest designation, requiring the added capability of capturing and displaying metadata, as well as performing searches on metadata tags. The gold level is divided into sub-categories as listed below.
